David said, “34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land…..” Psalm 37:34
Only a few are willing to wait and keep God’s way. Whenever they call themselves Christians or not. Most, while claiming to be Christians, advertently transgress against God as a means of necessity and by reason of self sufficiency.
Being excessively forward and impatient, lacking the faith to pray and wait on God for a solution. King Saul is a great example of what happens when we chose not to wait on God through faith.
King Saul went out of his way to disobey God to get what he needed.
The first time he was not patient, choosing not to wait for Samuel as he was instructed by God through Samuel. The second, he chose not to fully do what God commanded of him to do in regards to the Amalekites.
And the third and last time, would actually cost him his very own life. When he consulted a witch to speak to Samuel after Samuel had died.
Saul’s problem is no different to ours. We have more confidence in ourselves to solve our issues than we do in God to solve them. Where we look to our human efforts, intelligence and suggestions of others than have faith in God’s invisible hand to work things out for our good.
Works go before faith instead of faith before works. As God impresses through the Holy Spirit to act in accordance to His word. For faith is defined by God’s word accordingly.
In desperate times we would rather do whatever we can to help the situation than to wait on God.
God help our unbelief
