Most of us assert ourselves by our own human effort and capacity to take control over situations as a means to have control. When a situation is beyond our control, getting no where, not going the way we want it to go, some tend to let go of God.
Job had made up his mind even if he did not know nor understand why God would permit him to go through so much pain and suffering, that he will still trust Him. Despite the anguish of his soul and being mentally perplexed, he was determined not to give up his faith in God. Job understood there was absolutely nothing he could do to make a difference to change anything. But to remain faithful to God and resting in Him.
Daniel, shadrach, meshach and abednego rather die than to sin against God. They would rather die than to worship the golden image of king Nebuchadnezzar. Even if God wouldn’t save them, they still would not do it. They would cling to their faith in God even if it means to die for it.
This is the righteousness of God and faith, which spiritually empowers us to live supernaturally righteous in accordance to His word. Having the peace, confidence and boldness in times of storm. Without this what we call faith today is in vain. And a righteousness of filthy rags not being the righteousness of God. But our own self righteousness.
