What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?

David said, “keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.” Psalm 19:13.

Presumptuous sin is knowing what sin is, and to still do it anyway. But to sin knowingly, is trying to justify it. As a means for sin to be practiced it’s to try and justify it to make it right despite knowing it’s wrong.

Sin can’t be practiced knowingly, without trying to justify it. When it’s justified and knowing it to be wrong, it’s trying to make it right; and therefore, when it’s habitually practiced, allows sin to have its dominion (control) or mastery over individuals who have chosen such a deadly way to live their lives.

To the extent the mind becomes warped, twisted in the way it perceives evil. Calling it good, because sin has been justified for a very long time. Which also, simultaneously and unavoidably leads to the contrary implication of calling good as something evil just like evil is called good.

Therefore, when the Holy Spirit convicts truth with absolute clarity and certainty, and it is called evil, It starts the process of grieving away the Holy Spirit. To the point of completely rejecting God’s love and the free gift of salvation He offers. Sealing the fate by refusing and ignoring the continuous loving pleadings of His Spirit throughout the course of life unto death.

The Scribes and Pharisees presumptuously transgressed God’s Commandments. Compromising His Commandments for their traditions. And teaching and condemning anyone for not keeping them. When they did not only teach contrary to the Commandments themselves by their traditions, but unfairly judged those who kept to their traditions against the Commandments. (The blind leading the blind.)

They saw the living embodiment of The Commandments. The fulfilment of The Commandments. And the righteousness witnessed by the law and the prophets.

They were convicted by the Holy Spirit as they watched and observed the life and miracles of Jesus Christ. They could find no sin nor fault in Him. He was guiltless. Could not hold Him accountable for any wrong doing.

They denied Him openly, while they opposed the Commandments secretly under a false religious pretence of godliness. Subtle and cunningly making void God’s law in the eyes of men. Despising its righteousness exemplified in Jesus.

So they said, “This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.” Matthew 12:24 . Calling what was emphatically perceived to be good evil. In spite being convicted it’s something good.

Hence why, Jesus doesn’t only break down their logic by saying how can Beelzebub be divided against Beelzebub?

And it could only be through the power of God to come against satan’s kingdom for its destruction, that they deny. But the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

It’s this sin which is the great transgression. This is what David says presumptuous sins can lead to if they have dominion over us. Having absolute sway and power to have us in its grasp and control.

We could end up just like the Scribes and Pharisees even if we’re religious or not. If we’re not honest. Worldly people practice moral ethics and principles which is compromised for their conflicting beliefs all the time. Having a diplomatic perspective of truth. Truth is only necessary for convenience. Where others are blamed and misjudged for the same views they don’t hold themselves accountable to. Pretending to be against evil, but secretly for it, and against what is good. Not only they themselves reject what is good and call it evil, but persecutes those who live righteously according to what is good.
