God knows better than us

Sometimes we think we know better than God because of how the situation is looking. Especially, when things don’t seem go our way. But God knows better. Seeing beyond what we can see.

True faith is to believe and trust in God, when things are looking really bad. Knowing how far He has brought us. Showing us miracle after miracle. And bringing us from afar by His strong hand.

We tend to murmur if we don’t know and understand why.  Due to the fact, we can’t see as far as God can.  And because we can’t see as far as God can, we doubt.

For example: when God delivered Isreal out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

God confronted pharaoh through Moses for the first time, pharaoh harden his heart against God by making the Children of Isreal’s labour even more difficult. Commanding them to make bricks without straw.  Exodus 5:6. The people then questioned if God really sent Moses, thinking he was trying to get them killed. Exodus5:20

God led the Hebrews into the wilderness unto the Red Sea. Not only knowing if they went through the land of the philistines, which was nearer, they would doubt.  Thinking they would be overcome by war, and change their minds, wanting to return back to Egypt. But pharaoh would refuse to humble himself once again and hardened his heart to let them go. And out of desperation pursue after them. Exodus 13:17 and Exodus 14:1-5

Isreal murmured not trusting in God’s word. For God had told them all these things will come to pass. Forewarning them what they must do before hand. So they will have a way of escape. Exodus 14:1-5

Saying to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?” Exodus 14:11.

They continue to murmur as they journeyed through the wilderness. Despite all their needs being continuously taken care of. Exodus 16:2-12

Moses went away to receive the Ten Commandments on mount Sinai. When the people saw his return was delayed, they gathered themselves and said to Aaron, we don’t know what has happened to him. Implying something could have happened or he could be dead.

And Aaron instructed them to break off golden earrings, and they fashioned it with a graving tool and crafted a golden calf. Which was made by the gold Jewellery they had melted together. Saying, “These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.”

The pain of their bitter bondage had hardened their hearts against God for permitting it to be so for centuries. Disallowing them from appreciating His goodness, and rendering it with contempt.

Therefore, some clinged to their pain. And became broken without repair. Preferring to wallow in the misery of what they have been through in Egypt instead of embracing freedom.

To such an extent God’s will was constantly questioned and doubted and inconceivable because they couldn’t only see beyond what they could see, but they couldn’t see beyond their pain, in order to see through faith. All they saw is their pain.

Hence, when God did anything good for them, they just saw it as a means to bring about more affliction. Constantly provoking the Lord to righteous indignation. And today, we are no different.
