God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5

We need to avoid the trap, the snare of the evil one of thinking God is evil. Due to the pain sometimes inflicted on us after His blessings.

Interpreting the blessings as the infliction. As though God’s blessings are not really blessings , but curses to bring about even more pain and suffering.

God has thoughts of love and care for us, and not evil. Thoughts of peace and joy. Genuinely caring about our state of well being and eternal destiny. He wants to work everything out for our good, Including the evil. Which doesn’t necessarily mean He is evil because He permits evil to interfere, in order to counteract it. No, but because it’s predestined, knowing it will happen before it actually happens, He knows what course of direction it will go and when and how in His infinite wisdom and intelligence the best way to intercept and counter it. To turn the evil that was meant against us by the enemy for our good. We can then have an expected end of things hoped and desired for. Putting an end to all our troubles, we had to learn to persevere through by faith, patiently suffering as we wait for the fulfilment of His promises to enjoy all things.

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Genesis 50:20

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose..” Romans 8:28

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

We’re living in a dangerous time. A time of great confusion and deception. A time were some believe light and darkness not only balance each other, but there’s no light without darkness and light has darkness, and there’s light in darkness. Ultimately, light and darkness are indistinguishable. Going as far as to say, they’re not only inseparable, but intertwined as one and the same.

Deception means the commingling, mixture of truth with a lie.  Truth is added to the lie to make the lie seem truthful. While the lie misrepresents the truth, the truth becomes confusing because of the lie which is added to it, causing the lie to be very persuasive, and not to be able to distinguish the difference between the two.

Throughout the history of mankind, the enemy of souls, God’s adversary, the devil has tried to prevent God’s plan of salvation and misrepresent His Character by deception and persecution. Ever since God created Adam and Eve, and told them after they fell His plan. Making many attempts to try and prevent God entering into His own creation in the person of Jesus Christ to reconcile man back to Himself.

The devil has always misrepresented God’s Character to either be an evil dictatorial tyrant, obsessed with control and order, and whoever doesn’t comply He eliminates, or a vindictive Creator who takes pleasure in the pain, torment and suffering of those who reject Him after He has shown them so much love, grace and mercy. And also, counterfeiting His Character, so God’s character won’t be so distinctive from his own as a means to obtain worship for himself. For he wants to be like the most high.

“12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” Isaiah 14:12-15

The devil has always try to intercept and counter God’s plan, God has always counter and intercepted the devil’s plan. For this is a spiritual war between good and evil, which we are all cought up in.

As God works through the faithful, the prince and power of the air works through the children of disobedience against His people. So as God blesses those who are faithful for His cause to fulfil His will and purpose, the devil would try and bring about great pain and suffering to discourage their faith.

For Example: God leads Abraham to the promise land, but the land has a grievous famine. As God kept elevating Joseph, Joseph gets persecuted.

When God brought the children of Isreal to Egypt to escape the seven year famine. After many years of their stay in Egypt, the devil turned the heart of pharaoh who knew not Joseph against Isreal and made them into slaves to serve in bitter bondage.

And God permitted the devil to exercise his freewill to inflict Job. To not only demonstrate that God has a people that won’t sacrifice their faith for their own conveniences, but that the enemy will attack those who live righteously by faith despite the issue of sin in the world, trying to turn God against man.

God doesn’t just watches what the enemy is doing. He also intervenes. For example:

The Lord intercepted the enemy’s attacks in Genesis 11:1-9 The devil unites the world in apostasy and defiance against God to build a tower towards heaven. God intercepts this plan by confusing their languages.

We need to learn to rest patiently by faith despite the amounting pressures of painful circumstances and persecution. Which isn’t easy, but through faith we can endure to the end. We need to even see God permitting the evil to happen because He has a greater plan in spite of it. Amen
