They deceive themselves when they think they can get away with wickedness without no consequences. Bragging with laughter the evil they have done.
They shall fall by their own hand. By their own hand they shall bring about their own downfall and shame.
By the works of their own hands in mischievous acts and malicious intent, they shall certainly feel the consequences of their own doing.
They will be made a spectacle, and an example for all to see. They will even be made into a wise proverb, a saying. As a warning not to practice wickedness.
And by their own hand they shall bring their own destruction upon their head. For they have set up their own trap for them to get trapped in. They have digg up their own pit for them to fall in. Paving their own way to destruction. They have written their destiny in destruction. As a consequence of their wicked choices.
In their hardness of heart they have thought that they can mock God. And not listen to His voice. But He sees and knows all things. Including the secrets of their hearts.
For the Bible says, “be not deceived God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap.” Galatians 6:7
In this the righteous need not to contemplate vengeance. Vengeance belongs to the Lord. God will allow the consequences of the unjust to fall on them. For they themselves have freely chosen it.
But if a man was to be willing to turn from His wickedness He has committed to do, to that which is just and righteous, He will allow God the mercy and pardon to save his life. With those who prayerfully intercede to prevent hot coals from burning on his head, which he persecutes. Ezekiel 18:27 and Proverbs 25:22.
Thus, if any man avenges himself, he will take the punishment of taking what belongs only to God alone. For it is written,”vengeance is mine says the Lord.” Romans 12:19
