It’s no coincidence that Revelation 7 verse 4 only speaks of 144,000 sealed by God. And also, throughout history, the evil has always been in the majority opposed to a very small minority.
Jesus Christ said,” for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
And He also said, “21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:13-14 and Matthew 7:21-23
Many will say Lord, Lord. Believing their good deeds, spiritually supernatural acts of healing, casting out demons and prophesying in the name of Jesus should cover all their iniquitous works, and gain them admission in to Heaven. And then Christ will say, I never knew you. You workers of iniquity, lawlessness.
Many will take the mark of the beast. Knowing what the mark of the beast is. For the love of the world, worldly conveniences, not to risk imprisonment and to save their own lives, many will take the mark of the beast. Including many who have the knowledge of the truth, but have not received a love for it.
Those who have the righteousness of God, the faith of Christ and live righteously by faith, render uncompromisable obedience even unto death. Being sealed in God’s love, they would rather die than to sin against the one they love. Before they’re translated into heaven.
Therefore, in contrast the wilfully disobedient, living lawlessly despite the truth, would rather die than to give up their sin, which they love opposed to God. Compromising what is right for evil. Unavoidably taking the mark of the beast.
